    “Gadar 2,” the much-awaited sequel to the 2001 film “Gadar,” has taken the box office by storm, achieving remarkable success in terms of collections. The film has quickly become the fastest movie to cross the ₹450 crore mark at the Indian box office, an achievement that was previously accomplished only by “Pathaan” and “Baahubali 2,” according to film critic Taran Adarsh.

    The success of “Gadar 2” can be attributed to its captivating storyline, action-packed sequences, and the nostalgic on-screen chemistry between the lead actors Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel. The film has managed to resonate with audiences of all age groups and has a patriotic undertone that adds the right amount of drama.

     

    Having surpassed the box office collections of “Pathaan” and “Baahubali 2” in the ₹450 crore race, “Gadar 2” is now aiming for another record – the highest collections at the box office. Currently, “Pathaan” holds the top position with domestic box office earnings of ₹543.05 crore, while “Baahubali 2” follows closely with a cumulative domestic revenue of ₹510.99 crore during its theatrical run.

     

    Apart from “Gadar 2,” the film “Jailer,” featuring legendary actor Rajinikanth, is also captivating Indian cinema enthusiasts. With the film crossing the ₹300 crore mark in India and showing strong global performance, it is anticipated to touch the ₹600 crore milestone worldwide soon.

    “Dream Girl 2,” directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, has hit the silver screen, garnering attention from both critics and the audience. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film’s release on August 25 has sparked discussions about its box office performance.

     

    The movie’s opening day proved promising, making a notable entry into theaters with an impressive collection of ₹9.70 crore in India, according to initial estimates. The film’s strong start was significantly boosted by leading national cinema chains such as PVR, Cinepolis, and INOX, which contributed around 60 percent of the film’s total Day 1 earnings, amounting to approximately ₹5.35 crore.

     

    “Dream Girl 2” finds itself amidst competition from two other highly anticipated films, “Gadar 2” and “Jailer.” While “Gadar 2,” starring Sunny Deol, achieved an impressive opening day collection of around ₹35 crore, Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” soared ahead with a staggering ₹44.50 crore collection within India. It’s noteworthy that “Gadar 2” now holds the record for Bollywood’s most significant opening of 2023, placing it right after the release of “Pathaan.”

     

    In “Dream Girl 2,” the storyline revolves around Karam, who transforms into the character Pooja due to a pivotal life event. With the support of his father, Karam enters a marriage alliance with the son of a wealthy individual, setting off a series of comedic and dramatic twists.

     

    The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa, each contributing to the unfolding narrative.
