“Dream Girl 2,” directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, has hit the silver screen, garnering attention from both critics and the audience. “Dream Girl 2” finds itself amidst competition from two other highly anticipated films, “Gadar 2” and “Jailer.” While “Gadar 2,” starring Sunny Deol, achieved an impressive opening day collection of around ₹35 crore, Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” soared ahead with a staggering ₹44.50 crore collection within India. It’s noteworthy that “Gadar 2” now holds the record for Bollywood’s most significant opening of 2023, placing it right after the release of “Pathaan.”
In “Dream Girl 2,” the storyline revolves around Karam, who transforms into the character Pooja due to a pivotal life event. With the support of his father, Karam enters a marriage alliance with the son of a wealthy individual, setting off a series of comedic and dramatic twists.
