Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of misusing Hindutva ideology to sow divisions in society and cling to power. He stressed the importance of preserving “true Hindutva” and vowed to oust the “divisive” BJP government in the 2024 Lok Sabha election with the support of the PDA (Pichhade, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) in Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh Yadav asserted that the need of the hour is to protect and uphold “true Hindutva,” which, according to him, stands for promoting gender equality, eradicating discrimination, spreading love, increasing tolerance, and fostering a syncretic culture of inclusivity, as exemplified in the “Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb.”

He criticized the BJP for orchestrating “fake encounters” and propagating falsehoods while disregarding the welfare of the people. Referring to incidents in BJP-ruled Mainpur and Haryana, and alleged conspiracy to incite riots in Bareilly, Yadav accused the ruling party of supporting rioters and punishing law enforcement officers who uphold order.

When asked about countering the BJP challenge in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence in the I.N.D.I.A alliance, welcoming more parties to join their cause. He asserted that the people will “encounter” the BJP government in the 2024 elections, implying that the public’s mandate will be against the incumbent ruling party.

Highlighting the core values of “true Hindutva,” Yadav emphasized the need to protect the dignity of women, end discrimination, and promote unity and love among all citizens. He urged Indians to uphold these principles and spread the message of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam (the world is one family) globally.

Akhilesh Yadav’s strong stance against the alleged misuse of Hindutva and his determination to form a united front against the BJP reflect the intensifying political climate in Uttar Pradesh and the wider national arena. The upcoming Lok Sabha election will be closely watched to see how the political landscape evolves and whether the I.N.D.I.A bloc can indeed challenge the incumbent BJP government.
