DDA Opens Online Bookings for 10,000 Flats

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken a significant step towards addressing the housing needs of the city’s residents by initiating online bookings for approximately 10,000 flats across various categories. These flats, which are ready for occupancy and are freehold properties, are being offered through the Diwali Special Housing Scheme on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis.

The decision to make these flats available online comes as a welcome move for many prospective homebuyers in Delhi, especially those belonging to economically weaker sections (EWS), low-income groups (LIG), middle-income groups (MIG), and high-income groups (HIG). The initiative aims to provide affordable housing options to the general public and cater to the diverse housing needs of different income groups.

Under the Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023, DDA is offering a wide range of flats across various locations in the city. Among these properties are approximately 8,000 newly constructed flats designated for the EWS and LIG categories in Narela, as part of Phase III of the scheme. This includes 1,420 EWS flats in Sector G7 and 6,511 flats in Pocket II Narela. These flats are priced competitively to ensure accessibility for individuals and families belonging to economically weaker sections and low-income groups.

Additionally, the registration process has commenced for 445 middle-income group (MIG) flats located at Sector A1-A4, Narela, under the previous scheme (FCFS Phase IV). These flats are being offered at a discounted rate, making homeownership more affordable for middle-income families. The decision to offer discounts further enhances the attractiveness of these flats and encourages more people to participate in the scheme.

Furthermore, DDA has approved a proposal to offer the carried-forward MIG flats at Sector A1-A4, Narela, under FCFS Phase IV, at a discount of 15% for the general public and 25% for government employees, including Centre and state employees, autonomous bodies, local bodies, PSUs, and retired DDA employees. This move reflects the government’s commitment to supporting its employees and providing them with access to quality housing options at affordable rates.

The availability of flats in various categories, along with discounts for specific groups, demonstrates DDA’s efforts to promote inclusivity and cater to the diverse needs of Delhi’s population. By offering flats at different price points and providing discounts to specific segments, DDA aims to make homeownership a reality for more people and contribute to the overall development of the city.

In addition to the flats available in Narela, DDA is also offering flats in other locations across Delhi. Eight high-income group (HIG) flats are available in Jasola, priced between ₹2 to 2.1 crore each. Furthermore, in Rohini, there are 810 low-income group (LIG) flats available, with 34 in Sector 34 and 28 in Sector 35, priced at approximately ₹14 lakh each. Additionally, DDA is offering 107 LIG flats in pockets A1 & C2, Siraspur, at a cost of ₹17 lakh, and 89 LIG flats in pockets A1 and C2 in Loknayak Puram for ₹26-27 lakh each.

The availability of flats in different parts of Delhi provides homebuyers with a variety of options to choose from based on their preferences and requirements. Whether it’s a centrally located flat in Jasola or a more affordable option in Rohini or Narela, DDA’s housing scheme caters to the diverse needs and preferences of Delhi’s residents.

Overall, the launch of online bookings for 10,000 flats by DDA marks a significant milestone in the efforts to address the housing needs of Delhi’s residents. By offering flats across various categories and providing discounts to specific groups, DDA is working towards making homeownership more accessible and affordable for a larger section of the population.
