The accused was charged under IPC sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication).

    In a statement, Akasa Airlines confirmed the incident, saying that Flight QP 1148 was en route from Pune to Delhi when it received a security alert shortly after takeoff at 00:07 hrs on October 21, 2023. The aircraft was carrying 185 passengers and six crew members on board. In adherence to safety and security protocols, the captain decided to divert the flight to Mumbai and followed all required emergency procedures, landing safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 00:42 hrs.
