Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expression of displeasure over a belated invitation to the flag hoisting event at the new Parliament building has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions. In a letter addressed to Rajya Sabha Secretary General Pramod Chandra Mody, Kharge voiced his disappointment, citing the tardy receipt of the invitation, which left him with no option but to decline the invitation to the function scheduled for the following Sunday.
The issue centers around the flag hoisting event scheduled for September 17 at the new Parliament building, a momentous occasion coinciding with the auspicious Vishwakarma Puja and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebration. Kharge highlighted that his unavailability for the event was due to pre-arranged commitments, namely, meetings of the newly constructed Congress Working Committee (CWC) scheduled for September 16 and 17 in Hyderabad. Currently in Hyderabad for these meetings, Kharge outlined his return to Delhi late on September 17, making it logistically challenging for him to attend the morning event on September 17.
