The latest revelations in the unsealed documents of Jeffrey Epstein’s case have brought forth disturbing allegations of ‘sex tapes’ involving prominent figures like former US President Bill Clinton, Sir Richard Branson, and Britain’s Prince Andrew. The accuser, Sarah Ransome, who is one of the witnesses in the case, made these claims. However, Epstein’s defense team, led by lawyer Alan Dershowitz, has cast doubt on the credibility of Ransome’s allegations.
Ransome, in her victim impact statement before Ghislaine Maxwell’s sentencing for sex trafficking, wrote emails detailing the alleged incidents. She claimed that Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Branson were involved in sexual activities with her friend, and Epstein had recorded ‘sex tapes’ on each occasion. However, Dershowitz argued that Ransome’s claims “manifestly lack credibility,” emphasizing the absence of proof for the existence of any tapes. He highlighted that the allegations were retracted by Ransome soon after they were initially made.
The court documents reveal Ransome’s email extracts, stating, “When my friend eventually dared to speak out and went to the police in 2008 to report what had happened, nothing was done, and she was utterly humiliated by the police department where she went to report what had happened with Epstein, Clinton, Branson, and Prince Andrew.”
While Ransome withdrew her claims later, expressing regret for contacting the authorities, the allegations had also extended to former US President Donald Trump. Ransome accused Trump of having “sexual relations with [her friend] at Jeffrey’s NY mansion on regular occasions” in the email extracts. However, these accusations were also later withdrawn.
